UND Space Studies and Astronomy Club to host latest Public Star Party on FRIDAY, AUG. 31
The University of North Dakota Department of Space Studies and the University's Astronomy Club will be holding another one of their "Public Star Party" events Friday, Aug. 31, at Clifford Hall on campus. Future star parties are scheduled for Sept. 14 and Oct. 9, at the UND Observatory, west of Grand Forks.
There will be fun space activities for kids and everyone is welcome. Presentations are geared for all ages.
Here are the details for Friday's Star Party at Clifford Hall:
When: Friday, Aug. 31, starting at 9 p.m.
Where: Clifford Hall, Room 210
What: Star Party - Two UND Space Studies students will be giving a one hour talk about the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission and discuss what the "Curiosity" rover has been doing on Mars since it landed earlier this month. After the talk, there will be telescopes outside for viewing the Moon and any planets that are out, provided the skies are clear.
